The Dental Public Health Paradox

Healthcare frameworks worldwide struggle with a central issue: high clinical resources are often spent treating disease developments that are largely preventable. Within dentistry, despite technological breakthroughs, dental caries and periodontal disease remain highly prevalent chronic infections.

My academic focus at the University of Southern California (M.P.H.) shaped my approach to this challenge: translating broad public health and epidemiological strategies into daily private clinical settings.

Fusing Epidemiology with Clinical Care

We turn patient visits into proactive wellness opportunities:

1. **Caries Management by Risk Assessment (CAMBRA)**: Rather than merely filling cavities, we identify why they happen (examining salivary flow parameters, metabolic bacterial counts, dietary mineral intake, and active sealants).

2. Salivary Diagnostics: Saliva holds biological indicators. Salivary diagnostics provide early markers for active periodontitis, high caries risk, and systemic health indicators before structural damage occurs.

3. Biological Patient Ownership: Giving patients clear, actionable physiological data empowers them to manage their oral-somatic health between clinical visits.

Practical Hygiene Support

We design simple, high-performance home-care routines:

**Enamel Mineralization**: Balancing oral pH levels using mineral pastes (containing calcium phosphate and customized bio-active fluorides or hydroxyapatite).
**Targeted Microbiome Support**: Preserving helpful mouth bacteria to keep systemic systems healthy and resilient.
